Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift, born 13 December 1989, is an American musician and singer. Swift's discography includes diverse genres, and her songwriting, which is often in the form of her personal life experiences, has garnered a lot of media attention and critical praise. Born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift relocated to Nashville at the age of 14 to pursue a career as a country singer. Swift signed a songwriting contract with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, in 2004 and also signed an agreement to record with Big Machine Records, in 2005. Her self-titled debut album was Swift's debut album featuring country music. It was also the first U.S. platinum-certified album. Swift's subsequent albums Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2011) explored country pop. The first album's "Love Story" and "You Are My Friend" were among the first songs by a country artist to be ranked on the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts, respectively. Red (2012) included her first Billboard Hot 100 hit, "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together". 1989 (2014) saw her leave her country-oriented image. It was supported by the chart-topping "Shake It On", "Blank Space",and "Bad Blood". Reputation 2017, featuring the top-selling track "Look How You Did Me Do", was the result of the media's scrutiny. Swift quit Big Machine in 2018, and she signed in 2018 with Republic Records. In 2019, Swift released Lover (2019), followed closely by Miss Americana (2020), an autobiography of her life. With her albums for 2020, Folklore and Evermore, Swift ventured into indie and alternative folk. The two singles "Cardigan" and "Willow" were atop the Hot 100. Swift started recording her first six albums again following a dispute with their masters. Two albums were reissued in 2021--Fearless(Taylor’s version) and Red (Taylor’s version). The longest-running track on the Hot 100 was "All Too Well (10 Minute version)". Her 2022 album Midnights was released and its single "Anti-Hero" was the first to break the records for streaming time. Swift has directed music videos as well films such as All Too Well The Short Film (2021), while also playing supporting roles in a variety of other projects. With more than 200 million albums worldwide, Swift is one of the most successful musicians of all time. She is the most streamed female on Spotify and is the only artist to have five albums open with more than one million copies sold in the US. She has won twelve Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year awards; an Emmy Award. There have also been 39 American Music Awards; 29 Billboard Music Awards and 92 Guinness World Records. Swift is featured in a variety of high-profile rankings, such as Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songswriters of All time and Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists. Swift was awarded the Artist of the Decade title and the Woman of the Decade title. Swift's music has been responsible for inspiring the next generation of the field of singer-songwriters.
